Frustrating + Addicting = WHY!?
I really don't know why I played this all the way though...! I usually don't get frustrated at flash games, but this really made me want to punch babies. -YET this is somehow addicting enough that I kept playing.
The best game of its kind.
This could have easily been a boring hack-and-slash game, but the intuitive rage system and the ability to knock down ur enemies and use the terrain and barrels to your advantage makes it incredibly fun. I constantly found myself thinking, "how can I knock all those guys into that spike pit." Also the sounds and animation made it a pleasure to slash away at a group of baddies. The game was just challenging enough where it kept me interested and was never too frustrating. I could figure out what caused me to die and correct it the next time around. This includes the bosses who were all unique and fun to fight. The balance of different types of enemies and how they worked together was also genious. For a game that uses only the arrow keys and the spacebar, it still was amazing how many different types of attacks could be used, all of which are useful in different situations.
If I were extremely picky, I could say that the animation could have been better, or there could have been more cuts scenes or a more developed story. Not everyone will like this game, but everyone has their taste in entertainment. However, the music and sound was fantastic, the world map was fun to explore, and the endless barbarian stronghold level, in which you defend your fortress against the increasing enemy force could have been a game all on its own. I would have given that by itself a ten out of ten.
In conclusion this is probably the best flash game of its kind. How I earned the daily feature over this masterpiece is beyond me.. and this didn't come in second? This should have been first and then some. Kudos to you guys.
